Wow. Almost Chardonnay-like. A bit buttery. Great with fish. — 6 years ago
Bright, clear ruby with a great nose of cassis, blackberry, violet and mint.
Beautiful length and finesse. Great impression of crushed fruit with hints of forest floor and cedar. The finish leaves a lasting impression of sweet red fruit and supported by a soft blanket of tannins. This is the proverbial iron fist in a velvet glove - just lovely — 7 years ago
Can't believe I've held on to this treasure for so long! Cedar and sandalwood on the nose. Silky with a bright and savory--almost vegetal--finish. Perfect with filet and steak-house style garlicky creamed spinach. These grapes were picked when I was still in high school! — 8 years ago
What is the saying. "One bottle of Champagne is never enough, but two can be one to many". So we finally found 1/2 bottle of this LOVELY Champagne! Ripe red fruit on the nose & a very faint hint of star anise with a lacy mousse, the finish is superb the wine almost evaporates! Maybe two bottles aren't to many? — 8 years ago
Fresh and pure. Bright berries and just a bit of funk, spritz up front. Sicilian Cru Bojo. — 9 years ago
Great little release from @Tegan Passalacqua - bright, balanced, great tension and elegant tannin profile. — 10 years ago
2000 vintage. Deep ruby, edging to deep garnet around the rim, very bright. Plush on the nose. The black cassis notes from the Cab and the violets from the Cab Franc are very noticeable. The wine is developing with huge sweet spice, vanilla, smoke and leather. There's a bovril, meaty note here that's very attractive. On the palate, medium acidity, high tannin - grippy, but not coarse; well integrated. Alcohol is 13% and unobtrusive. Good concentration. Fruit is riper on palate than in the mouth, and a distinctive dark chocolate and cinnamon note. The finish is long and attractive. Hard to imagine this wine drinking any better from here. — 10 years ago
LUNCH BAGS! Off vintage showing quite nicely. Lots of bright red fruits, graphite, and earth. — 10 years ago
This is the Pinot noir, but new to this app and don't know how to change. Any suggestions? Nice bright acidity to this wine by the way — 11 years ago
Popped and poured out of a 1.5L and this was lights out good. I love the 2005 vintage in Barbaresco and this was a beautiful example and seemed to have so much left in the tank! The fruit was still bright and full of life. Tannins are still firm. Great acid for food and paired beautifully with frutta di mare fra diavolo. Secondary characteristics are just barely creeping into the fore. Wish I had another mag to drink in 2029. — 6 years ago

This is absolutely one of the best Rosés for the money. With good Rosés now hovering around $40, this producer is one of the top producers in Basque Country. While others have dramatically increased their Rosés prices, Ameztoi has inched their prices year to year.
Rosés have gotten so popular and their prices have skyrocketed relatively high in the last five years. So much so, I just read an article about fake Roses being produced in and exported out of France.
I selected this Rosé for Hedy’s Strawberry Gazpacho, Tarragon, Basil, Olive Oil. It married the bright fruits nicely, strawberry. The Rosé has just a bit of fizz from the carbonic tank process. The minerality & hint of herbs made for a even tug of war with the Tarragon & Basil.
@Plate&Bottle on FB. Check out Hedy’s past dinners. — 7 years ago
