I liked it but too sweet for Warren — 6 years ago
Dec 2023: singing after 2 hour decant, great balance, not many signs of aging, style resembles classic Barolo from neighbouring Cannubi, drink or hold — 6 years ago
Lovely Barbera!
Great balance probably thanks to the warm vintage — 7 years ago
Glad I aged this bad boy. Delicious. Drinking beautifully now. — 7 years ago
Really nice. Should definitely decant for at least an hour, could easily use more. Great earth, solid acid that keeps it refreshing, and still surprisingly persistent tannins. Overall very nice. Had at Babbo. — 9 years ago
Could drink this every day. — 9 years ago
Decent not great.

Big and balanced blend. Fine tannins with nice minerality add to the currant and berry notes. — 5 years ago
bright tannic and youthful. Much better after decanting. Oak, tobacco overlaying red fruit — 7 years ago
Great well aged langhe nebbiolo. Certainly quite secondary at this point. Lots of bricking in the glass. Mushrooms and decaying leaves in a good way. Smooth, mouth filling, and good acid. — 8 years ago
Brickish ruby. After 3 hrs of air, nose of flower petals, tea, red berry fruit, and a little menthol. Round and rich with some mocha in the mouth. Young but delivers nicely right now. — 9 years ago
The nose was perfumed and intense with dried flowers, rich black cherry, roasted nuts, exotic spice, balsamic tones, gravel dust and hints of undergrowth. On the palate, it was silky with vibrant currents of acidity ushering in dark fruits, cedar and spice notes. Mounting tannin coated the palate throughout the finish, drying out the fruit and reminding me that this is a young Barolo. — 10 years ago
Good bottle from a bad vintage. Big. — 10 years ago
Very good fond for the price ($7). Very light and simple; some spice and fruit but largely an uncomplicated sipping wine. Thumbs up! Good with simple pasta; would probably go well with pizza. — 10 years ago
Full-bodied, paired with ravioli and marinara — 10 years ago
One of the best wines I’ve had in my life. Truly spectacular. All the things were there. Structure, balance, the fruits of Barolo, all of it. No sense in going over it. Memorable to say the least — 5 years ago
Slight earth ripe stone fruit. Excellent. Traditional blend reminds me of Italy. — 6 years ago
Top Barbera d'alba! Zalig. — 6 years ago

Serious wine but a fair amount of fruit. Dried cherries, eucalyptus, and earth. Firm tannic structure. I like it! — 9 years ago
Great "soft" wine with pizza and vegetarian lasagne. Had 2010 vintage. — 9 years ago
A great older vintage and this wine still has some fruit — 10 years ago
2006 vintage. Good old fashioned Barolo. Light colour and hue. Medicinal notes. Floral and red cherry. Gorgeous crunchy tannins. Long finish. This is a step up from the '89. Plenty of years ahead of this wine. Very good indeed. NB: after 2 hours this wine is singing: roses and tar to the fore, integrated tannins, crisp acidity. Bouquet is out of this world. — 10 years ago
