Bought at winery. Dense purple red, slight sediment in suspension. Herb, briar, mint, blackberry and a hint of raspberry in nose. Briar and mixed berries in mouth (black, blue and raspberry), slightly tart with a touch of seed bitterness and barrel toast on finish. Paired with local pizzeria's wild mushroom slice and their kale lemon ricotta slice. — 8 years ago
Some absurd ratings out there for this nice but decidedly middle of the road Burg. Light for the vintage. A dark translucent salmon (I've seen some darker roses). Nose of cranberry and orange peel with a little briar and a light touch of spice but not really perfumed. Lithe finish with ample acidity and fine tannins. If pressed I would guess village level Vosne. — 8 years ago
Weirdly wonderful like so many Jura elixirs. I believe this is a kind of fortified Chard, definitely oxidized. There's the suggestion of pumpkin and the briar patch. A wonderful soft and round aperitif. One of a kind and worth a visit — 9 years ago
Climb into the brown submarine! This is subterranean and deliciously dank. Big hot, black soil notes intertwine with raw cocoa nib and smoky blackberry. Cedar and briar, leather and biomass. This is a stubble and schist wall of tannins up front, with a king-fu grip! — 10 years ago
Starting to show its age, but a generous bouquet and a developed palate of briar patch and dried red fruit. — 10 years ago
Great Nose, briar fruit with soft Tannins — 10 years ago
Lovely ripe fruit with briar and bramble overtones and balanced with moderately long finish — 11 years ago
Aging extremely well. Deep garnet with a slight fade. Briar, raspberry, smoke, herb, green pepper and a slight sweatiness in the nose. Lots of acid and tannin and a surprising amount of fruit for a California '97. Still well balanced and needs time to breathe. Wish I had some more, this will last for another 10 years easily. — 11 years ago
Pure wild raspberry and briar. Mineral, med+ acid. This must be a very high production wine (I bought it at a supermarket!) and it really exceeded my expectations... bravo Louis Jadot! — 7 years ago
Blackrock Vineyard, Yakima Valley. 47% Grenache, 27% Counoise, 26% Cinsault. Extremely pale pink in color. Strawberry, strawberry jam, raspberry and briar notes in nose. Same berries and berry jam in mouth, cherry water and later cherry fruit learher finish. Rounded mouthfeel, slight astringency on front of tongue. A lovely aperitif but perhaps not enough acidity for some foods. — 8 years ago
Bowen Home - floral nose, fresh berries and slightly herbal finish. — 8 years ago
Oh yeah. This is my jam. Just gorgeous wine. Viogner really lift the aromatics into another level. Spice, pepper, cherry briar patch, subtle perfume, a meadow of wildflowers. As it opens a creamy silky core of ripe red fruit and lush tannins seduce the mouth like a femme fatale. The prickly acids give it a balanced backbone. Delicious long finish with acid burst. Almost sweet, not sappy. Like a great dark comedy. — 9 years ago
Much lighter than I had expected. Awesome aromas; garrigue, camphor, capsicum, tobacco, black tea, leather. The palate is complex, giving off different flavors with each sip. Bright cherry, mushrooms, dusty earth, briar berry, green pepper, charcoal. Finishes with smoke and a nice touch of white pepper. Beautifully complex. All the elegance of a fully mature St. Emilion. — 10 years ago
Blackberry, briar patch, eucalyptus — 10 years ago

Comes briar herbaceous nose. Blackberry jam. Nicely controlled frame with gentle cocoa tannins. Lingering finish. $34.99 — 11 years ago
A little funk on the nose at first followed with raspberry briar, limestone, earth, a juicy cleanse with a lightly structured finish. Lingers of cherry and granite — 8 years ago
Dense purple red in color. Leather, briar and vegetal notes in nose. Blueberry water, fruit leather and cola notes in mouth and raspberry and cranberry with length in finish. Some bitterness with mouth-coating astringency on front half of tongue. Needs time to open, still has aging potential — 8 years ago
2012, Domine Chignard. Les Moriers Fleurie Gamay. Tart red fruit, lots of spice, a little briar and a healthy amount of acidity. This is "bigger" Fleurie, more like Moulin A Vent, Morgon. Excellent with burgers and grilled chicken. — 10 years ago
Argentinian 'Dirt Road' Wine...Blackberry, Fig, Truffle, Briar Patch...Bordeaux Blend from an Exceptional Bordeaux Blender...#Mendoza — 10 years ago
Room to age ... Beautiful balance. Briar, dark fruit, good mid-palate and medium tannin. I want to be Rosemary when I grow up. — 10 years ago
Big fruit, little bit too much heat. Briar patch, very nice for $60 or less — 11 years ago
