Capa y densidad baja, en nariz buena potencia, caldo de pollo, flores blancas, manzanilla y frutas rojas poco maduras. En boca ágil agradable y con final amargo pero agradable. — 9 years ago
This was sublime. The brancellao spice and the taut Caiño make for a delightful wine. — 9 years ago

Spectacular Mencia with Brancellao. Amazing personality with round ripe fruit AND freshness. It has reminders of a good Pinot Noir. — 9 years ago

Very subtle. Slightly tart. Low oak. Maggie loves it. — 12 years ago
Clean and pure lip-schmacking red blend of Mencia, Brancellao, and Mouratón. — 8 years ago
Luis' top red cuvée from his oldest vines of Brancellao, Caiño Redondo, Caiño Longo and Ferrol. Unlike the "regular" A Torna Dos Pasas, the Escolma is aged in new and used French barriques for 1yr and bottle-aged for another 3 years.
Red and black tart berry fruit, backbone of fine tannins and Atlantic/granite minerality.
This is Spanish wine for Burgundy lovers. Amazing. — 8 years ago

2009. A blend of Caiño Redondo, Caiño Longo, Brancellao, and Ferrol according to my friend Chris. Lean, dark fruit with firm tannins and refreshing minerality. We had it with beef-stuffed bell peppers, but this vintage would've paired better with steak frites in retrospect. — 10 years ago

2015. This is a wine for the geek and non-geek alike. A blend of brancellao, caiño, and ferrol (go ahead, look them up. I’ll wait) it offers sour cherry flavors and a hint of fresh herbs wrapped up in a blanket of minerality and crisp acids that are just irresistible. Juicy with light yet puckering tannins. A fun treat to be sure. Great tonight with grilled tri tip. Only 12% abv. $19. (The number score is an error in that I rarely give them. I fat fingered something and now I have to leave a score.) — 7 years ago
