Delicate and fruity, but 14.5% sneaks up on you as you just keep pouring, and pouring and pouring ... You get the gist. Purchased at the Winery in Montelcino - and they had nothing left in April 2015, so if you can find 2010 anything from some of the more boutique wineries - buy some! Very pleasant boutique bottling from a superior vintage featuring a texture of black pepper, black tea, savory and dark cherry. Purchased for low $20s, this producer does small productions beside selling fruits to leading Mendocino producers. This is one of the better pure CF based wines I had in recent years, coming from an Israeli Boutique winery, the wine is 95% CF and 5% CS. It has a deep garnet color, a truly amazing nose, herbal, with black cherries, dark chocolate, mint, eucalyptus and plums, full body, intense with chewy tannins, thick texture, rich with balancing acidity. A long never ending finish. Delicious! My score 91, drink to 2020. — 10 years ago
