Deep ruby. Powerful black/blue fruit, incense, Indian spice and vanilla aromas on the expressive nose, with a smoky mineral quality adding urgency. Offers sweet, densely packed boysenberry, cherry cola and spicecake flavors that spread out steadily on the palate, picking up an exotic hint of star anise and a touch of licorice on the back half. A little tropical and earthiness on the nose, but on the palate it really came alive - crisp with a bit of effervescence, good acid and retaining the fruit flavor. Geez. Where do I start? This wine isn’t for everyone. But for my palate it’s one of the best red wines I’ve ever tried. This vibrantly red carmenere is complex, and surpasses any expectations you may have had. Strong ocean scent. Salty, briny, fresh. — 7 years ago
