Padrão dos Povos

Trás-os-Montes Red Blend 2011

Portuguese wine tasting at D'Canter. Smell: more ripe fruit than dry fruit; cherry, black plum. Big fruit, higher alcohol, fresher and younger. Don't need to age it as much higher, easy to drink on its own. Very nice w the rosemary cheese. Nice and light. — 9 years ago

Montes Toscanini

Reserva Familiar Tannat 2015

#tannat bem rico no paladar - amadeirado e bem encorpado - e no cheiro - de frutas vermelhas, especialmente morango. Também tem notas de cacau e é um excelente custo-benefício. — 9 years ago

Star Angel by Montes

Paso Robles Syrah 2009

The final bottle of the case. This wine is now darker and smokier on the nose with less of the blue fruit and more of the stewed black fruits. The palate still has wonderful acidity but is far less lush. Flavors of wet earth mingle with darker stewed plum and blackberries and lead to a bit of a shorter finish that shows a touch more puckering acidity. — 7 years ago

I love everything from Montes Alpha and this was as lovely as I expected it to be. Harvard Square wine tour. I would have let it breath for an hour or so before serving if drinking it at home. — 11 years ago

Montes Alpha Casablanca Valley Pinot Noir 2011

Chilean PN great colour and clarity. On the nose cherry, hint of cinnamon and ocean air. The flavours in thirds; Front, rich red cherry. Middle , Chinese five spice with clove, cassia, star anise, ginger and cinnamon . Back is long and moves firm the salt of the ocean to white pepper. As this opens I think of Spices common to bold. Shiraz or Carmenere - a very complex PN for under $20 - definitely worth your time. — 12 years ago
