Fruity but with barrel underlaying the fruit notes. I also get some fresh grass and flowers. A little bit of cream and a full full body. It is somewhere a chardonnay, a Viognier and an Albariño. The fruit and acidity of an Albariño but the body and texture of a Viognier. Overall the aroma and feel would remind you of a Beaune Chardonnay on a first impression. — 8 years ago

1955. One of the best wines I've ever tasted. This is the 1955 vintage, so only my mom and dad are older than this wine, and it was everything I dreamed it would be. The nose was like the dead pine needles you step on in Vermont in the summer. I would wear this wine like cologne. Despite being 60 years old, it still had some tannins left in it, and it actually got better the longer it was open. I feel privileged to be in the same space this wine was opened.

Super woodsy and tobacco-y on the nose. Big cherry flavor with nice acidity. More wood and earthiness on the back end. Really nice, complex yet smooth red. — 8 years ago

Very smooth but intense flavor. — 11 years ago
Flavorful, rich bouquet; dry with grape tones. Attack is sweet but not too sweet, with a definite grape taste. It evokes a deep purple color but not quite blackness. Evolution treats is to a full bodies wine, both rich and pleasant with some dryness and an increasing woody flavor. Finish is a rather tasty grape, some dryness. Really tasty bottle. — 13 years ago
