Medium deep ruby, garnet with a medium wide garnet rim . Quite high toned and spicy , sweet mixed red and dark fruits , vanilla , needs quite a bit of time to open up . After a while a bit medicinal . On the palate this is quite dense and ripe , with red plum, blackberry , red fruit coulis , spiced dark cherry . Quite rich and sweet on the palate , dense , with quite fine tannin and fresh acidity . Slightly alcoholic on the palate. Ok length with mineral touches . This seems more ready than the others though will continue to show well for a further 10 years. — a month ago

Huge apple flavor definitely some wood and sweetness from the calvados. So rich. Almost like a dessert. Cooked apples with cream and apple sauce. — 8 months ago
Quite pale straw colour . Quite lightly floral with citrus and some yellow fruits . Quite rounded citrus fruits , balanced acidity , creamy texture . Slightly toasty citrus tinged finish . Quite good length and freshness . Drinking well now but I would imagine this can continue well over the next 5 to 10 years — 2 months ago

Amazing that this is 9.5% because it's so easy to drink a 750mL bottle. It really is wine quality. I have a hard time identifying the nose on beers but it reminds me of being inside the cow feed silo as a kid. It smells like late summer harvest left to ferment.

This is my last bottle of this remarkable single vineyard Syrah, the first bottle consumed about 6 years ago.
The nose opens seamlessly with ripe plum, blueberry compote, and cassis before evolving into savory waves of smoked meat, dark cocoa, dried violet, and aged soy.
