Black and blue fruits. Cracked pepper. Tangy acidity. $12. Malbec — 8 years ago
This did NOT suck! Luscious red and blue fruit, lavender essence, brilliant energy/acidity, some exotic spicyness dissolving into some tonal smoky minerality. Moderately long finish. I was not familiar with this producer but let the somm (at a restaurant with JB chops) guide me to something that made wonderful music with a brilliant pork collar feast. 100% Carignan...perhaps my first from Chile. And still a baby...should be even more fantastic in the 2020's. — 9 years ago
Great #Syrah from #Chile. Good consistency year after year. This vintage is a little boozy at 14.5%.
Layers of aromas from cherry licorice, raspberry, fresh boysenberry, blue flowers, and coco. Smooth palate, dry tannin. Black cherry, maraschino cherry. The palate is alc/tannin dominant for 2012. The weak spot for the wine. — 9 years ago
A good one!! Full of black olives notes, easy to drink , wooden ,great with tapenade ,blackberry jam and blue cheese!! — 10 years ago
I tasted this wine daily for about 10 days, each time from a different bottle. I was quite impressed with the concentration and complexity coming from such young vines. This wine is best after about 1 hr in the decanter showing subtle and smooth tannins with medium acid and restrained alcohol. The black, red, and blue fruits were ripe and delicious. This wine is coming into it's peak but does not have the structure to live a very long life. #vik #chile — 10 years ago

Carignan 2011, Viña Blue Hands, Valle del Maule — 12 years ago
As much as I like older wines with more evolution to them, I really enjoyed the 07, but this 2012 really grabbed my, mind, palate & body. Something special with this bottling that I look forward to trying again in another 8-10 years plus.
On the nose; brighter perfumed florals than 07. Beautiful violets & lavender. Black licorice, dark currants, blackberries, dark cherries, black plum, black raspberries, smoke, scorched earth, dark moist soil, nice soft spice, light baking spices, leather and dry stones.
The body is full. The tannins are big, chewy & sticky. The structure is huge, the length beautiful, nice tension and excellent balance. The fruits are ripe & slightly ruby; dark currant/cassis, blackberries, black plum, blue fruits, black raspberries, raspberries with strawberries pulling up lightly on the rear. Leather, stones, dark moist soils, black licorice, vanilla, light spice, crushed rock powder, stems, lovely violets, beautiful acidity and well balanced, polished finish that lasts minute. The 12 far exceed the 07 in time. Drink 2020-33.

Very easy to drink! — 8 years ago
Deep ruby red. Very perfumey on the nose with both red and blue berries. Moderate tannins (6.5/10) and medium plus bodied. Starts off with some woody elements before opening up with some dark berries and a little bit of heat. A slight vegetal bite in the strong attack but thinning finish. Nice and dry but odd metallic note in finish too. Drink till 2021. — 9 years ago
Wonderful! Big and bold, nose could be nothing but syrah -- mouthful of mature berries and fruit (blue/black/plum), deeply spicy vanilla and chocolate. Beautiful finish that stays with you just enough. Perfect finish to any flight. — 9 years ago

Only after googling this wine I -oddly- came to know that terroir authority, saxophone player and owner Pedro Parra got inspiration from jazz record label Blue Note for this eye-catching wine label. But that's only the tip of the iceberg! A juicy, extremely refreshing, light-bodied red from Carignan and Malbec a.o, a multi blend that is different every year. My grandfather, a renowned local-drunk traveled every season to Cauquenes (a coastal, dry-farmed spot south of Santiago) to buy a number of demijohns for his own consumption, and I suspect that that wine tasted more or less like this. It's funny how young and iconoclasts winemakers are bringing Chile back to its roots by looking at the future. If you ever come across this wine don't think twice and buy a good number in the spirit of savvy drinkers like my grandad. @WineTraining @Dusan Bradanovich — 10 years ago
Intoxicating eucalyptus & lavender aromatics. Deep dark black and blue fruit tannin, both silken and rustic. Would love to taste a case of this over a decade. Gracias @Rémy Charest — 10 years ago
Blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenére, Syrah and Petit Verdot. Intense blackberry and cocoa aromas. Almost voluptuous-like on the palate with blue fruit, a hint of oak, balanced acid and well-integrated tannins. — 11 years ago

Amazing. So so good. Big blackberry, blue berry, and chocolate flavors. Creamy full body wine with smooth velvety tannins. — 8 years ago
Probably the best Syrah in the world at this price point! Truly deserving of the Decanter world wine award! Smoked Meat & spice, violets, black pepper and beautiful blue and black berry fruit with a light handed touch in the winery. Not quite as good as the '10, but still smoking! — 9 years ago

One the nose, very dark currants, expreso roast, dark chocolate, vegetal notes, blackberries, black raspberries, dark cherries, dry dark soils, vanilla, understated spice, fresh dark florals.
