Another #impossiblenottolove @bonnydoonvineyard wine, thx @randallgrahm👏👏👏 2012 Contra --carignan, syrah, grenache, mourvedre & cinsault. Crushed berry, blackstrap licorice & pink peppercorn capture the nose as notes of freshly balanced dark cherry & mouth melting carpaccio lace the palate. What can I say? Always a fan of Mr Grahm's work. #certifiablydelish for just about $17 on the shelf & a steal. — 10 years ago

Gran Reserva Maipo Valley Petite Sirah 2010

Deep, glass-clinging red purple in the glass; bear black with dark magenta highlights in a drinking pour. Big, bosomy nose of cobblered blueberries and blackstrap molasses. Brooding yet fruit-forward palate and greying dark berries and some ash supported by medium, velvety tannins. This is a treat. Not too serious, but not frivolous at all. Enjoy on its own or with charred barbecue meats by 2017. — 11 years ago

Over a few hours developed into some gamey leather, roasted coffee bean, dusty old cigar box, and shriveled red cherries and prunes.
