Blacks Of Kinsale

Te Mata Estate

Hawkes Bay Cabernet Merlot 2014

2014: Now we are in the presence of royalty so mind your P's and Qs. Te Mata 'reputedly' make the best NZ red in Coleraine and this is the little brother's er little brother. It is beetroot red showing it is as fresh as a daisy. But the taste is already exceptional for the year and the price at $22. No cab sav grassy rebellion and no merlot tart it is refined, low acid low sweetness. Like the All Blacks No. 10 we obviously have depth in numbers and age. It is a delight to drink and will surely improve. I like it — 11 years ago

Reserva Field Blend Douro Red Blend 2011

Douro decadence. Dark blacks & reds, cured meats, wet minerals & Portuguese liquid love. Young, but that's why we have more. A great demonstration of why this region is on the rise. — 11 years ago

Oak Glade Vineyard Mixed Blacks Red Blend 2010

This was flavorful and rich, tasted of black fruit and a bit of tobacco. — 11 years ago

Weill A Way Vineyard Mixed Blacks Red Blend 2012

Super dark and deep mixed blacks. Tons of concentrated dark and purple fruits; rhubarb, plum, huckleberry compote. The freshest of fresh on the palate, farmer's market, "free sample, I know you're going to love this" fresh. Long but not over staying its welcome, full flavored but not fleshy. Bravo. — 12 years ago
