Blackberry, vanilla, black cherry, raspberry, licorice and oak. Great structure and soft tannins. — 5 years ago
2010 vintage. Tasting at Magill Estate with Peter Gago. The star of the show. Blockbuster that has everything. Complex and balanced nose of a great Grange. Black fruited, some leather and spice. Savoury. On the palate, great concentration while not being too big. Medium plus body and alcohol. Medium acidity. Long finish. Exceptional. I enjoyed it now. But best to wait for another decade and enjoy for a further 20 years plus. — 7 years ago
my all time favorite cider — 8 years ago
Earthy and lots of black fruit on the nose. Full bodied. Great pairing for the main course at Zahav. — 8 years ago
Salted caramel nose. Resolved blackberries, dark cherries, mulberries, cooked black plum, soft leather, sweet dark earth, star anise, light cinnamon salted milk chocolate, super elegant with a very long finish. Paired well with steak, lamb and duck due to it's long bottle evolution. Drink now as it's hit it's stride. — 8 years ago
So unique and bubbly! Great with strawberries and chocolate. — 9 years ago

Delicious Mourvèdre a la Bandol -this 2011 is exceptional with black and red cherries, licorice root, vine clippings in all their pruned sap, and an herbaceous Mediterranean wisp of lavender. Such a star! — 8 years ago

Best bottled wine I have had to date :) loved it — 11 years ago
This Anthill is well extracted. Too much for how I like my Pinot’s. It is also has a slight alcohol burn in the back of my throat which; I & other professionals consider a fault in wine. It’s like Oregon fruit & florals meet the over-extraction of Bella Glos. That aside, there are some merits here.
The nose reveals slightly stewed, yet ruby & candied fruits of; blackberries, strawberries, dark cherries, plum, creamy raspberries and notes of pomegranate. Pronounced baking spices; vanilla, cinnamon, clove and nutmeg. Black, rich earth, black licorice, sweet tarry notes, limestone, dark spice, dry, crushed rocks and bright; red, dark, blue and purple florals.
The body is big, thick and lush. She still has sticky, meaty, tarry tannins. The structure & tension is quite big. The length and balance are good but, still require some more time to hit their peak. Slightly stewed, yet ruby & candied fruits of; blackberries, strawberries, dark cherries, plum, creamy raspberries and notes of pomegranate. Pronounced baking spices; vanilla, cinnamon, clove and nutmeg. Black, rich earth, gravely, dark volcanic minerals, black licorice, sweet tarry notes, limestone, dark spice, stem inclusion, leather, hints of graphite, dry, crushed rocks and bright; red, dark, blue and purple florals. The acidity is round and good. The big, long, finish is, rich, ruby, elegant, well polished and persists for minutes.
Photos of; one of the vineyards they source fruit, three friends & partners that founded Anthill; Anthony Filberti, David Low, and Webster Marquez who met while working at Williams Selyem and the staff working the process in the cellar. — 5 years ago
The final bottle of the case. This wine is now darker and smokier on the nose with less of the blue fruit and more of the stewed black fruits. The palate still has wonderful acidity but is far less lush. Flavors of wet earth mingle with darker stewed plum and blackberries and lead to a bit of a shorter finish that shows a touch more puckering acidity. — 6 years ago
Absolutely love this but can only get for a limited time — 8 years ago

Ripe dark black cherry and briar. Extremely young, but wonderful exuberant fruit and acid balance. Cool climate Syrah with nice class. Round, smooth, and already showing rounded ripe tannins. I think their syrahs show amazing value and sing with a Swiss steak braise. — 5 years ago
