Billy Kwong - Soft and fruity, not sweet but well balanced. — 8 years ago
So complex and funky. Layers and layers. Quince, bruised pineapple, oxidative, button mushrooms, hazelnuts, saffron(?). 2006 vintage, 8 years on lees! Jan 2015 disgorgement, 4 g/l dosage. 80% chard, 10% pinot noir, 10% pinot meunier. — 8 years ago
Super different for coonawarra cab, in a pleasant way — 8 years ago

White button mushroom, golden apple and amazing minerality. — 9 years ago
Really really well done. Dank and hoppy without being too bitter. — 9 years ago
Excellent bottle. The 01 is supposedly a better vintage but im not sure when it comes to this producer. Clear, day bright, garnet and orange brick like color, medium - concentration, orange/peach rim variation, slight sediment, low viscosity. Nose: sound, moderate intensity, stewed cherries/strawberries/raspberries, floral, spicy and lots of dill pickle and slight game. A mushroom note as well. Palate: dry, med- body, stewed plums over ripe cherries/strawberries, lilies, dill, vinegar, leather, button mushrooms, game, mulch with some cedar and coconut. Very complex. Med- tannins, medium alcohol, high acid, long finish. Between the 01 and the 98 its a tough choice of which one to put in the wine cooler to store. — 10 years ago

She's temperamental. And expressive. It ain't no a Billy Joel Song; it's a Soings en Sologne, sung by the son of a son of a viticulture (well maybe only the cousin). Very fucking cool wine. Unique for this region. Kind of Sebastian Riffault-like in his rule breaking to Sancerre, but perhaps more... tame. Oxidative for this vintage, maybe that's consistent? Tastes like there's some skin contact on the romorantin, a roller coaster of acidity and sapidity across the tongue, and Menu Pineau, I can find it if I look. If you don't like oxidative wine, you probably won't appreciate this. But I judge a wine whether it's empty or not, and this one didn't stand a chance. Tastes better when it's warmed up and breathed for an hour. vintage is technically 2012 -not on label. Wife (New Zealander) Heidi Kuka makes the eye-catchingly, ornate almost Maori-like tribal tattoos for the labels. Julien Courtois is able to knock it out of the park on occasion, but mostly, he makes very good, expressive and interesting, but most importantly drinkable wine from the western Loire. — 8 years ago
A Billy favorite from Lolinda — 8 years ago
Button down the hatches folks, we're going for a ride - destination Montilla-hey-o! Distilled peanuts, racy pineapple pith, pear and pencil shavings. The acidity cuts through, well, everything, sashaying forth with pronouncements long on macadamia and happiness. Also: Salt lick that you like. Marcona almonds. Caselvetrano olives. Respect. — 9 years ago
Just picked wild strawberries, Rainer cherries, white button duxelles, brioche, oh my. — 9 years ago
Extra depth to this Billy as they have oak aged the wine. Lovely creamy texture. — 9 years ago

Delicious wine! Full and gentle with warm berry flavors. Birthday gift from Billy 2016 — 8 years ago
One of the best bottles of GC Burg I've had. This is in perfect form right now. Showing a perfect intermingled harmony between fruit and tertiary vinous character. Not over oaked at all. Very tart intact red and black cherries with acrid pomegranate and bramble. A kiss of brett with moist, mossy soil like earth including a white button mushroom presence. Dusty stone minerality with a cedar and light pepper finish. This is quite wonderful. I think 99 burgundy is just so spot on to drink now. — 8 years ago
Billy Badass ... Textbook Amarone from a monster vintage tipping the scales @ 15.65 - yeah it was high octane but the flavors were so vivid I lingered over them for hours — 8 years ago
I forgot how good this IPA was. Had it about 2 Christmas ago in a growler. My brother @notrog gave me a growler of this. It was so good then, it is so good now. And now that its in bombers, it might be my favorite bottled IPA from NYS. The hops shine through on this one nicely. If I'm not mistaken, I smell some Nelson Sauvin hops. Juicy, fresh fruit, its tropical fruit, citrus fruit some tree fruit too. Great malt profile that sweetens up the bitterness from the hops perfectly. Clean dry finish keeps you coming back for more. Balanced. Only down fall, the midpalate might be a bit short or watery. Go find this from @singlecutbeer and enjoy. #beer #craft #craftbeer #craftbeerny #nysbeer #nydrinksny #tasteny #singlecut #astoria #queens #billy #ipa — 9 years ago

Spicy fruit forward. Long lasting & downright very good. If this is where we are starting price range with big basin, can't wait to see where we go from here. Very happy purchase. Repeat button for sure — 8 years ago
