Brut Réserve Champagne

Wheat-y and apple-y with a hint of warm spice. Assertive, holds up well to smoked and spicy foods. Great holiday dinner wine, soup to nuts. — 8 years ago

Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru Chardonnay 2009

This has developed beautifully. In 2012 it was green and tart. Now, the color is still youthful, but the nose almost Meursault- like with toasted hazelnut and deep, chalky/earthy scents. The fruit underneath is like bruised green apples and pears. In the mouth it shows its Pernand character. Mouthful of earthy minerals, and a lean style but with length and balance. — 8 years ago
