Finding what I've been looking for in Carricante. It's got a marsanne/roussane-like nose with banana peel, the blossoms of some rich tropical fruit, and some sage or Cali bay leaf. The phenolic are nicely reigned in, and it has something of that weightless, rainwater characteristic that the Benanti Pietramarina has in such abundance. Little fruit on the palate, just texture, acid, and minerality. Faintly tannic finish. — 11 years ago

Rose petals and dried herbs with a big aroma of rich cherry and balsamic. Comes off very rich and a little boozy (vintage?), much more than Benanti.
