Thid is a fabulous wine. Paired well with pizza but could see it being very versatile.

Cherries. Plums. Berries. Tons of red fruit with so much acid and earth. Minerality through the roof like Burgundy. With accompanying acid. And some tannin that really sticks around. Love this wine. — 9 years ago
Zibbibo! This stuff is incredible... Leather and apricot with sugared lemon zest and a round nutty finish. Gorgeous! — 12 years ago

Blackberries, black cherry pits, graphite, sun dried tomatoes, dried thyme, cinder. Soft rounded acid/smooth narrow velvet tannin balance, medium bodied, juicy-silky texture, smoky-herbal finish. Outstanding with simple tomato sauce based pastas. — 10 years ago
Black cherry, blackberries, tarragon, balsamic, white pepper, wet rocks. Great acidity, medium body, juicy mouthfeel with smooth velvet tannin grip. Mineral driven, long earthy/dry herbal finish. — 11 years ago
Finding what I've been looking for in Carricante. It's got a marsanne/roussane-like nose with banana peel, the blossoms of some rich tropical fruit, and some sage or Cali bay leaf. The phenolic are nicely reigned in, and it has something of that weightless, rainwater characteristic that the Benanti Pietramarina has in such abundance. Little fruit on the palate, just texture, acid, and minerality. Faintly tannic finish. — 12 years ago
