The 2021 Chardonnay Belle Côte is a wine of tremendous density and power. Orchard fruit, dried pear, graphite, anise and dried flowers infuse the 2021 with tremendous flavor complexity. Readers will find an intensely mineral, savory Chardonnay with the fruit pushed into the background. Belle Côte is the original Chardonnay planting at Peter Michael. Dark Oregon fruit, great spice, wonderful Pinot that still has a few more years, great value!!! — 3 years ago
Straw in color with a soft floral nose. Buttery on the palate but not overly oaky. Asian pear, almond, honey, and light citrus layered over a mineral backbone. Medium acid in the finish. Not as bold as a California Chardonnay, but nicely balanced. — 5 years ago
biodynamic, 50% new French oak; n: oak, malo, pineapple, apple, grapefruit, slightly buttery; p: medium bodied, good structure, Mersault style, ripe grapefruit — 7 years ago

Hells yeah...and pairs perfectly with my homemade mole sauce! — 11 years ago
Apple and citrus mix with red berry suggestions on the nose. Hint of good funk and savory/ meaty quality. Cabbage patch kids and green apple candy on the palate. Yeasty, long prickly finish. Powerful and light; almost reminiscent of Dom. Disgorged 21, base 18. — 3 years ago
Chasing my chaotic self-administered pandemic hair chopping with a Gewurtz from Arroyo Seco which seems to me apropos as I imagine the region as wind-swept and tousled. This wine is not so much and that is a good thing. All is in harmony. There is just the right amount of everything and it hits you in order—the lychees are followed by a green lawn leading to the flower garden full of roses and gardenias all spirited along by a nice amount of acid and powered by a prickling tannin. I’m not normally the biggest Gewurtz fan but I’d reach for this a second time. I’d maybe even pair it with a “hard to pair” thing like artichoke. Something about the floral nature of both I think could line up. Is that crazy? Maybe. But this is coming from someone who just used her kitchen scissors to give herself an intentionally asymmetrical haircut. — 3 years ago

On the nose it was bright and citrusy, on the pallet, some citrus, strawberry, watermelon, apple and vanilla. It left my mouth watering for more! — 9 years ago
