Powering through the last of the oak beers on the way to wine immersion. On a positive note, the baby now has a room! Anyway, last year’s Good Gourd! Looks like dark tea or a hot cider, nice eruption of bubbling magic. Orange tinged; good start! Super spiced cinnamon apple, caramel, vanilla, nutmeg, and oddly smelling of a California wine. Sierra foothills mascarpone notes and also a hot buttered rum smell. Cinnamon tea, clove studded orange, whiskey-lemon-honey tea, toasted coconut, sweet tobacco, brown sugar, dates, fruitcake candied notes with a nod to its density. A cream soda finish with raisinets. #cigarcitybrewing #cigarcitygoodgourd #goodgourd #imperialale #ale #beer #bier #biere #birra #imperialpumpkinale #pumpkinale #pumpkinbeer #ccb #halloweenbeer — 6 years ago
85 percent Cab with blend of complementary reds. Should age well. June 2018. — 7 years ago
At first, cassis and cherry shine on the expressive and generous nose. But soon lovely notes of treebark, licorice, forestfloor and grilled bell-pepper add in.
Slightly slender and feminine on the mid-palate, this wine could use some more flesh and stuffing.
Wine definately scores on the nose! — 8 years ago
Great! Right from the nose through the last drop. — 8 years ago
Dark ruby red with a purplish hue. Good dark fruits on the nose with some forest floor and truffles. Light bell peppers in the finish. Moderate tannins (5.5/10) and medium bodied. Lots of soft dark fruits and damp leaves. Medium plus finish. Great restaurant wine and solid Sonoma Cabernet. Drink till 2022. — 9 years ago

A very balanced wine even on ots iwn — 11 years ago
Just love this wine, great value, can’t get enough! Belle Pente (bell-pont') means "beautiful slope" - for their 70 acre hillside vineyard & winery site in Willamette Valley. Bright Ruby red with aromas of red fruits, herb spices and hints of blossom notes. On the palate strawberry and cherry flavors, slight sweet undertones, herb notes and smooth tannins. Well balanced on a long finish ending with mineral herb notes. Nice!! Great value. — 5 years ago
Pretty delicious and the only field recordings offering that I've found in Alabama. — 8 years ago
Popped and poured. Immediately, this bottle was open for business. Powerful aromas of tobacco, thyme and dark fruits with just a touch of green bell pepper and leather. The bouquet is so intoxicating that you're compelled to bury your nose in the glass but I stopped short of being satisfied with that as the temptation to take a sip was, of course, overwhelming...and I was not disappointed. Ample notes of currants, tobacco and some cedar and earth, wrapped in a beautiful body. Tannin and acid are in good balance. This is a great wine for a hearty meal yet it can be enjoyed perfectly well on its own. Considering the structure and my history drinking these wines, I suspect these will drink very well over the decade as it begins to take on more secondary characteristics. Drink now or Hold. — 8 years ago
It's time for my Friday's Cabernet fix. This time, a wonderful Chilean Cabernet.
Deep purple in color with a purplish rim.
Beautiful nose of blueberries, blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, oak, vanilla, licorice, earth, spices, peppercorn, leather, bell pepper, sage, peppermint, eucalyptus and smoke.
Full bodied with medium acidity and beautiful long legs.
Dry on the palate with blackberries, black currants, cherries, figs, cloves, herbs, earth, cola, vanilla, oak, spices, light vegetables, coffee, chocolates, bell pepper, tobacco, beef jerky and peppercorn.
Long finish with firm tannins and black pepper.
An elegant, Single Vineyard, Cabernet Sauvignon from Chile, with lots of complexity and fitness, but not fully balanced yet.
Still young now, but very enjoyable by itself, and better with BBQ Meats. I paired it with a cheese platter, crackers and nice company.
Grapes are grown at the foot hills of the Andes Mountains, on stony soils. 99% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Cabernet Franc.
14.5% alcohol by volume. — 9 years ago
For the price point, this Big Dog can definitely hunt! Soft pepper and smooth tannins, slight black cherry make this a winner with Ferrero Rocher and House of Lies. — 10 years ago
Really nice and soft. Well balanced and goes down easily. — 11 years ago
Lovely. Some odd odors during the first hour after opening- blue cheese and cabbage.
Good color, smooth, soft, rounded and light tannins.
Cork was a complete mess- took about 5 to ten minutes to clean out.
Mushrooms, bell peppers, cedar and cherries. Delicious with dinner of filet and lobster, asparagus and potatoes. — 6 years ago

Fresh bell pepper, bites of cilantro and plum skins. Tacos carnitas and SNL on a Sunday. — 8 years ago
Back in the good ol' days of Silver Oak...I bought several on release knowing very little what my wine future would hold. Cellared perfect, green/bell pepper and straight up dust on the nose. Plenty of fruit and tannins with bright acidity. Mouth fills with a ting of cherry, cola and a mineral element. Finish comes then goes. Hint of spice on the back side. — 9 years ago
