First time drinking Touriga Nacional not as a Port. Medium+ viscosity makes me think this grape is very thick skinned. Impressed with depth and complexity of flavors as well as balance of fruit and tannins. Chocolate, dates, cooked cherries and blackberries. An old-vine mandatory drink while in Portugal! Bical grape planted on clay & limestone and Cercial and Sercialinho planted on sandy soils. One day this will be the Lord of Sabaoth for those thousands of kiwi sauv blancs and bland pinot grigios. I honestly worship the wines of Luís and Filipa Pato and I am only to sorry for not drinking this wines more often.
