Great vermentino. Wonderful pairing with a dish of spaghetti with zucchini and pistacchio pesto with saffron and shrimps. The wine is very balanced, long finish and flavors of chamomile, lime, perfectly ripe white peach. Great Saturday night dinner, the wine stood up to the dish. 👍🏻👌🥂 — 7 years ago

This wine in a few words, "rustic elegance". Definitely in the pretty side of the north Rhône. Pristinely ripe red fruits (red plum and pomegranate) are joined by a sprinkling of something darker and a little dried, morello cherry or black raspberry. Pretty red floral accents as well. This reveals its true identity with a basso profundo blast of beef stock meatiness, BBQ smoke, and cured Moroccan black olives. Earthy tilled soil, porcini, tobacco, and a light molasses-y sweetness from oak round this profound and complicated wine. The purity, length, and seamless texture here are astounding. Proof that the grandmaster abides and it tastes like more than 500 years of winemaking expertise. Ne plus ultra for the appellation assuredly and a great way to understand the heart of Syrah. Not backwards or shut down at all, but this has a very long life in front of it. — 11 years ago

E molto buono. — 7 years ago
A white Merlot from Switzerland. Starts off with the bracing acidity of a sav blanc, then fattens out on the palate like a viognier. Flavors just continue to evolve on the palate through a wonderfully balanced finish. Unlike any other white wine I’ve ever had. Super cool wine suggestion from the best wine bar in London. — 7 years ago

Vinho muito bom, com notas frescas e aroma agradável. Sem duvida um branco que não pode faltar na sua adega. — 11 years ago
Beautiful inky color with blackberry, cassis and lots of spice on the nose. Tannins are still firm, weighty palate, well-integrated oak. Flavors same as aromas but add cedar. Great wine, Andres Basso and Lynfred team! — 12 years ago
Friend was kind enough to share this to find blend coming from the hipster winery that is Tank...It’s got a unique style with bright acidity structure, good tannin integration, with soft white pepper while being ever so slightly fruit forward. Unfortunately this won’t be made again but What a cool wine!! — 6 years ago

This wine is produced from grapes grown in several estate-owned vineyards. The Rossj vineyard, planted in 1984, is named for Angelo Gaja's younger daughter Rossana (Rossj). Bass is Piedmontese for the Italian basso, meaning low, a name derived from the vineyard's position. Pheasants are featured on Rossj-Bass' label to commemorate the beautiful birds that inhabit the forests adjacent to GAJA's vineyards.
TASTE:
Considerable depth. Elegant body, definite character and good acidity; a fresh, lingering finish. — 10 years ago
