A rich Gevry-Chambertin from Lucien Boillot. I've had a lot of Pierre's brother, Louis (married to a true Mistress of Wine, Ghislaine Barthod), but this is the first of my Lucien Boillot's made by Pierre. I think I like the quality and price:quality a bit more than the Louis Boillot (his prices have gone up since he left the Rosenthal stable). Fragrant, dark cherry, cranberry, earth, and some leather and mushroom on the nose and palate. Clean, deep red color. — 8 years ago
Shared this at a wedding , so while I may have been predisposed to enjoy it, I also know, that even in the relentless flames of the inferno, this wine would be deeply delicious ;-) — 11 years ago
Burgundian beauty. Gamey, meaty, leathery coffee notes along with the usual red fruits and spice. — 7 years ago
Unusual wine but delicious. Smells like a sherry and tastes of walnuts — 10 years ago
2011: now I get the Barthod connection. Very complete wine. — 10 years ago
