A lark pick up at Total Wine, because I'm a sucker for Cabernet Franc and the low ABV of 12.6% made me think that this bottle may deliver more than just new world fruit and spice. Established by a retired surgeon, the winery experimented with many varietals until settling on those that do best in the Puget Sound AVA (e.g. Madeleine Angevine, Siegerrebe, Pinot Noir). This Cab Franc was sourced from the Yakima Valley AVA though, known for producing high quality WA wine. Not much else I can tell you about the winemaker, but the grape itself is a wonderful pairing wine as it's acid helps to cut through fatty meals and the tannins are not too assertive even when young. Paired this one with a spicy eggplant and green bean coconut curry! I wish I had more! ~$18 | #cabernetfranc #yakimavalley #mountbakervineyards
On the eyes: Bright, orange-cherry red color, clear with light stain, light tears, no gas/floc.
On the nose: Cherry with hints of black currant and raspberry. Crisp dried leaf notes rounded by gravel. Med- alcohol.
On the tongue: med soft tannins, med alcohol, med acid, med body, nice and round in the mouth. Peppery dried cherry and raspberry, forest floor with petrol notes and tobacco. Nice long pleasant finish. Decant and enjoy this one if you can find it! — 9 years ago

2010 really surprised me. Good stuff — 10 years ago
71% CH - 29% PN. Tete de cuvee juice only. Ageing in barriques and on the lees for at least 7 years. Dosage of 2g/L. No malos. 7 years and half aged under cork. A pleasant surprise than this cuvee. Not wonderfully deep and complex but every component has been helped to find its place. The result is a generous wine, complete with rich brioche and baker workshop note. Will develop well over the next few years. For the short - medium term. — 10 years ago
Fantastic wine I discovered on the wine list at Mason-Pacific in San Francisco. — 10 years ago
Good wine and HoC @Drew Baker .Tart but delicious. It gets better after an hour like everyone else says. Geikie says it tastes like Old Westminster. — 10 years ago
Outstanding Dry Creek Barbera from the remarkable baker Lou Preston! Amen. — 12 years ago
Easy to drink. Easy to shake hands with. 8-12. — 12 years ago
Last of the Pinot's send to me from this producer. Very 🍒 and a more burgundian type compared to the Baker Ranch. Seems to have some stems? More tannins more acid. This is good! But the favorite is still the Abbey-Harris. Turns a little herbaceous and green the next day. — 8 years ago
2008 was delicious - round and lots of dark fruit variety. A little pepper. More amazing with an ocean breeze and view of Mt Baker in the distance. — 9 years ago
Grenache Rose - has a strawberry and cranberry notes on the palate with a little herb on the nose. Excellent rose! — 9 years ago
Stunning, sharp acidity with heaps of lemon lime on the nose and in the mouth. Strong minerality with vines sourced from the bench. — 10 years ago

2012 warm baked cherries, velvety smooth mouthfeel, good stuff, picked it up as its on the wine list at the new job, gotta get acquainted. — 10 years ago
Do not mistake this for a Chinon. Cabernet Franc is a killer grape in Virginia and Maryland! She loves our terroir! This wine has a wonderful perfumed nose of sour cherry, desert rose, and a hint of tobacco. The nose follows through on the palate with svelte tannins and a slight cherry liqueur note. Well done Baker family and here is to Maryland wines! — 10 years ago
