I am in tiki bar hell but the wine is excellent — 9 years ago
This vintage shows more oak than in prior vintages. Big, bold, version of California chardonnay. Missing the elegance of last year. Still enjoyable. Just me splitting hairs. — 9 years ago

Babcock Red Table wine 2010, followed by Daniel Gehrs Port 2010, weighing in at 20% alcohol. After 10 years in the dark, this port speaks to you! Table wine is WAY underpriced at >$10...I purchased at $8 as a wine club member, thanks Bryan! — 12 years ago
2 days old plus double decanted and still tight. This is big, bold, and frigging gorgeous. Cinnamon, cassis, currant, anise, char. Love it. — 9 years ago
With every wine I suppose their is a story....but this one is special. Last night the honorable Judge and 6'7" finesse forward @Roman Sukley opened an incredibly rare and special bottled of SQN with a personal note inscribed on the bottle "made for my great friend Roman and his family and all his friends, Manfred"....not only was it an astoundingly generous gesture by Roman but the wine was spectacular and to me drank like an aged Riesling, with fantastic structure, rich kumquat, burnt honeycomb and warm apricot flavors and a long sweet and intense finish. The cork pic is residual sugar that Roman spotted and documented. The other members of crew in the photo are Roman, Doctor of wine @Charles Gudas and the beyond compare @DAG....much thanks for the new friendship, good times and amazing wines. — 9 years ago
Medium to full-bodied with zesty acidity. Nose of fresh pear and flavours of lime, lemon, pear, Babcock peach, and minerals. — 9 years ago
As the label tells a tale of possible 9 Muses, this magical wine is an immaculate blend of 9 grapes- 3 of which are white in this red blend. Predominantly Pinot Noir would never be assumed, and only serves to smooth out this wildly enchanting journey. Elderflower bouquet, then down the rabbit hole into garnished reds with ripe friut with tarnished metal, and appropriate tannin. A wild turn into a rich, oily finishing passage the viognier offers from the floral beginning. . A full circle. Give it a nice chill. Yum. — 10 years ago

Reduced so much, opened hours later to great uniqueness — 10 years ago
On the darker side of purple for a Pinot. Cherry and strawberry with a hint of toast and Slighty earthy aroma. Medium bodied well balanced. Flavors more apparent in mouth. This is the only Pinot that we have found we consistently like. — 10 years ago

Sipping Fine Wine
Another post of my recent CA trip to see my daughter we visited Santa Barbara Winery Babcock. We tasted was Radical Pinot Noir from a small hillside in the heart of the Radian Vineyard, owned by grower Jonata Winery. Ruby red with purple tones and aromas of ripe fruits and complex spice. On the palate concentrated flavors of raspberry and cherry infused with dried aromatic herbs and fine tannins. The finish had a touch of smoky tones and lingered through the ending. Very Nice.
