Amazing aromatics, crisp, clean, refreshing - everything you want in a rosé! I had dinner at the winery during vinitaly this year with brothers Luciano & Franco. They're located in custoza and actually were the first winery to call the white wine of the area custoza. The rosé comes in tomorrow - retails under $20. Tempranillo and 10% Syrah from vineyards in Tudela de Duero and aged for 16 months. Mauro was created in the 1970's by Luciano Suarez, specializing in the restoration of medieval monuments, and Felix Choque, cousin of Mariano Garcia, the former winemaker at Vega Sicilia. Flavors of raspberry and cherry some leather and earthy pepper. The wine had good balance with oak on fine tannins. Lingering finish ending with earthy tones. — 7 years ago

Big fruity aromas. The alcohol notes are slightly prevalent on the nose that is dominated by cherry and plum with hints of earth. Very rich on the palate. No noticeable raisin that you might expect, instead plum and fig fill the fruity palate that is framed by dusty, slightly gritty tannins. Lots of gentile acidity fills the long finish. — 10 years ago
