A slight oxidation note, a great wine, a lovely surprise, present oak note, honey touch, nice concentration 😃 lovely maturity and pleasant — 9 years ago
Kissed with honeysuckle and orange blossom, Quinta de Covela's 2013 Reserva Branco is an elegant cuvée of Avesso, Arinto, Chardonnay, and Viognier. Fermented at low temperatures in French and Austrian oak barrels for 14 months, this exceptional blend receives lees contact and it's nicely integrated, lending body, soft texture and balance. Mineral and saline notes gracefully co-mingle with citrus fruit and dried pineapple, meandering to a long, splendid finish. Sample — 8 years ago
Mineral, slight acidity. Grapefruit, pomegranate. Drank it on the same night as a chablis - for a third of the price, puts the chablis to shame — 9 years ago
A highlight from tasting a lot of vinho verde. 100% Avesso is rare. Seek this out. — 9 years ago

Tasted at Covela's historic estate—a Renaissance manor that sits frozen in time, poised at the mouth of the Douro Valley, along a southern-facing amphitheater robed in lush greenery. The 2013 Escolha Branco is a blend of Avesso and Chardonnay, with a few years of age, offers perfumy aromas of dried honey and orange blossom. Barrel fermentation lends texture, refinement and creaminess. This is a balanced, poetic wine, bright and fresh with delicate mineral filaments wending in and out of stone fruit. Sample — 8 years ago
