First Mugnier and Musigny. Opened one hour before pouring. The fifth bottle in the line up and the moment I brought the glass to my nose, I knew it would be the WOTN. Beautiful, pure, and ethereal. Layers of sweet cherries, rose petals, and violets. After a hour, secondary aromas of black tea, wet earth, and autumn leaves dominated. The nose was as seductive as it was complex. Maybe the best wine I've had in 2017. — 8 years ago
New ice wine producer for me from Yakima Valley. Paired well with Hedy's ice cream & sorbet creation. Nice array of stone fruits, marmalade, nuts, dry pineapple, wet stones, very good soft minerality, beautiful acidity, a thick, rich well polished finish with just the right amount of (RS) sugar. — 8 years ago

Another level... Still dense at the core, with steady, attractive bricking: Wonderfully dense nose of blackcurrents, pencil shavings, fine tanned leather, and a hint of woodland floor (fine moss, leaves, and fresh soil after an autumn shower). Velvety tannins and great acidity. Along with the '66 this is one of my all-time favourite Bordeaux vintages. Seems to be keeping up better than the '61s I've had over the last few years!
We drank half of it from the coravin before waxing the top in case the cork had lost too much elasticity to self-seal. I'll have the rest with my brother in a few weeks' time! — 9 years ago

CVed 3/7/17 after GL Moine Burg tasting. Nose of Forest floor and autumn leaves with savory funky notes. Balanced mid palate and minerals and dark floral notes carrying through to long finish. — 9 years ago
Unlike ice cider or frost cider made in the United States and Canada, apples are frozen using refrigeration technology meaning the frost only goes one way--in. In nature, apples will freeze, thaw, freeze partially and unfreeze partially, moving sugars throughout the apples. You'll notice a difference in style here because the producer oxidizes the cider as a way to compensate for the artificial freezing process, but it's still a delightful dessert choice on a list. A rep told me to pour it over vanilla ice cream, but I'd rather just drink it straight. Notes of oak, caramel and baked fruit, it reminds me of a dreamy blend of sherry and Madeira. — 10 years ago
