Fresh, easy to drink. Citrusy and no lingering — 4 years ago
One of my favorite wines ever. Period. — 7 years ago
Fresh. Bright. Medium to full. — 7 years ago
On the nose, crack pepper, blackberries, black plum, black raspberries, blueberries & violets. On the palate, M+ powdery tannins, black cherries, blackberries, black plum, black raspberries, clove, cinnamon, nutmeg, wood shavings, violets, dry crushed rocks, leather, tarry notes, black cherry cola, black licorice & black pepper. The fruits are certainly better quality/riper in their "Homage." The finish has sticky/meaty tannins, good acidity, nice spice and ripe fruits. — 8 years ago
Best buy for the buck--my white go to. Fruit forward dry finish. Good body but drinkable. So much in this little wine! 2014 — 10 years ago
Like this a lot, in good company too! — 11 years ago
Top Sauv Blanc For sure. More smooth compared to other NZ sauvignon blancs but similarly crisp and citrusy. — 5 years ago
Totally love Gimblett Gravels Reds & this is one of them. Beautiful array of dark berry fruits, dark chocolate, a spec of bakery spices, a dash of savoury goodness and fresh silky tannins. — 5 years ago
Perfect for cheese, fruit and garlic bread brunch — 7 years ago
Drank at tony and Andreas's — 7 years ago
Excellent w halibut in green sauce. Great depth for a Chenin with enough acidity to balance the fruit. — 9 years ago
Deep purple colour and lovely inviting wild blackcurrant bouquet. Very pleasant blackberry and plum flavour, the alcohol level not extreme but at a noticeable level though. Bought from selfridges. — 10 years ago
Bursting with black pepper and blackberry. Elegant with very slick tannins. Really nice. — 10 years ago
Crazy rad natural sb?! — 11 years ago
Bright & light. Weird Floral greens. Merlot, Petit Verdot, Cab Franc, Dornfelder/////////////
A day later the fruit is near perfect. Not sure what blew off, but now totally balanced. — 3 years ago
Light gold color. Big nose dominated by camomile and butter with a little melon. Wine was actually better colder versus on the warmer side. On the palate I got a lot of sugar and hence too much sweetness for me. Very little acidity. Too sweet for me. — 5 years ago
Rich, juicy red. Needed to open. 88 — 7 years ago
Always good to have a taste of home, and very little does that better than Gimblett Gravels Syrah. Great dark fruit, showing excellent leathery tones. — 7 years ago
Nose of ripe; blackberries, blueberries, black plum, black raspberries, dark cherries, white & black pepper, soft, chalky minerals with light & dark fresh florals. On the palate, lean; blueberries, black raspberries, dark cherries, cherries, black licorice, soft baking spices; clove, cinnamon, nutmeg, powdery crushed rocks, leather, dry & fresh dark florals with understated white & black pepper. Good crisp glass. Strong pear but clean finish — 9 years ago
Black cherry, raspberry notes. Fair amount of acidity. Paired well with baked salmon. — 10 years ago
Fruit forward, dark cherry, dried herb. Fruit upfront, ripe cherry, texture tannin, dense flavors, structured with good body weight. — 10 years ago
Clean simple new zealand wine. Not trying to be anything it is not. I am starting to really like hawkes bay. — 11 years ago
