1994 Artadi Grandes Anadas Reserva Tempranillo. Dinner at Tap during staycation. K couldn't remember where or how he had gotten this, but thought it was worth a try. Drank after the '08 Flowers PN and what a contrast. This wine was big, chewy and funky- not barnyard, but earth, mushrooms, musty moss. A predictably loved this wine. We really enjoyed it and thought that it drank great, but could hold a while longer. — 9 years ago
Fantastic wine. Perfectly balanced. Red fruits medium + body with a smooth and lingering finish. Love it! — 9 years ago
Nice balance and structure to be consumed over the next 5 years. Very enjoyable especially given its price point — 10 years ago
Utterly delectable and VERY expensive. Amomg the finest Rioja $$ can buy. Among the world's costliest wines — 10 years ago
Still wound tight. Mineral, graphite, pencil shaving, good acidity. Huge, powerful and focused. — 12 years ago
I visited Artadi winery in Rioja recently and the actual vineyard where this wine was produced. 75 year old vines in beautiful, picturesque, magnesium-rich soils. Smooth tannins and good acidity, wet earth, mocha, peppercorn, black cherry, very savory! Elegant! — 8 years ago
2002 Hundred Acre CS. Dinner at Tap during staycation. This followed the '94 Artadi Tempranillo and '08 Flowers PN. Massive. It was fun to have such hugely different wines back-to-back-to-back. Light, fruit-forward PN, followed by funky, earthy Tempranillo, and then this massive CA wine. Coated the mouth, lots of tannin- but not overpoweringly so. Tons of ripe, lush fruit- dark cherry, plum, currant- and even chocolate, and herbs. Not too oaky. This wine was really complex and really fun to drink. All enjoyed and thought it was great. — 9 years ago
Burgundy meets Rioja! Amazing Tempranillo showing very well at 17 years of age. Menthol, eucalyptus, dark red berries, in an elegant and Burgundian package with excellent acidity that still has plenty of life left. El Pison is the top, single vineyard wine from Artadi. — 9 years ago
Very smooth. Lovely — 10 years ago

Clear and bright deep ruby, clean pronounced nose curry, raspberries and cranberries, clove and dark chocolate. It's dry with med+ acidity, high fine and sweet tannins the alcohol is high and it's full bodied. Medium+ flavors of dark chocolate raspberries, cranberries and vainilla. It has a slightly dry texture and the finish is medium +. Very good bordering on outstanding a solid wine for the price. You can drink and has potential to age another 10 years, due to its balance between fruit and tannins that give it the stuff for aging. #rioja #artadi — 8 years ago
