Any wine that can shine from a plastic cup deserves extra kudos. Mistook for a Northern nebbiolo with its structure, detail, & balance, but the fruit is pure southern, pomegranate & black currants. 2001 vintage. Garnet with hints of amber. Floral/blackberry nose. Rich velvety red fruit, off dry, slightly tart on the finish. Started at an hour and a half after opening, was still improving at three hours. Significant sediment, recommend decanting. — 10 years ago
