If you like aged champagne, this is the beer to try. Tart, funky barnyard notes mixed with fruit. Sour, but balanced. Belgian treat for sure. — 4 years ago
Fairly pale color, high citrus as is to be expected, fairly well rounded. — 7 years ago
Deeper colour ruby still with garnet rim . Quite floral nose , more fresh fruits , mix of red and dark . On the palate more dense , slightly riper but still fresh , darker fruit , quite wild and detailed . Well balanced acidity , quite gritty tannin , fills out well on the palate . Good length , drinking well now but will age longer over the next 8-10 years . — 6 months ago

First of a few posts to come this evening. Out on a wine and steak adventure with 3 other old guys. This one a very good start, but a little past it's prime. Some of the fruit got lost. Should have drunk a couple of years ago. — 7 years ago

The 2019 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru has a very elegant bouquet of red berry fruit, briar, crushed stone and rose petal, and is, so it turns out, Very Rousseau-like in style. The palate is medium-bodied with filigree tannins, a silver bead of acidity and plenty of energy, with wonderful tension and verve toward the finish. This is a Charmes-Chambertin with great pedigree and will give many years of drinking pleasure. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting. (Neal Martin, Vinous, December 2023)
