Spiced blueberries, light, Rhone-ish — 10 years ago
Wild and super fresh. — 10 years ago
One of those old wineries that tips just a little too much into the overy juice bomb arena. I would like more tannins, and the spice to be more in the forefront. But whatever! It's giant and fun to guzzle. Not as good as Ridge, Black Chicken, Porter Creek.... — 10 years ago
Smooth, sexy and suprisingly fresh for a 40 year old bottle. Light in clarity; almost pinot light. #1975 Barnyard beautiful! Smell reminds me of the rodeo arena seconds before I rip down the alley way on my big fast bay steed! — 11 years ago

Rolle aka vermentino. Very assertive upfront expression - big nose for a white (corn?), slight sweetness. Lychee, white peach. Stole the show in a vermentino night vs Antoine Arena & Yves Leccia. — 10 years ago
Intense body for an intense wine. Wonderful dark ruby with garnet shades. Intense note of wood (barriques, 50% new), a great leather and tobacco over riped red fruits. A note of under spirit black cherries in the mouth with silky tannins. Perfect acidity (from Sangiovese) to pair a good "ossobuco". 14,5% alcohol but only a few hint of it in the nose. Should be refined in the cellar but it's already a good wine. Ah, a wonderful place to visit, too, with its impressive "barriques arena" by Renzo Piano. — 10 years ago

I don't usually like Zins at all - way too sweet. But this is a very, dry lovely merlot zinfindel. — 12 years ago

Like being on a boat listening to Real Estate! So groovy — 11 years ago
Great if you want big flavor with lower tannin. Smoke and sour cherry on the nose, ripe fruits on their way to jam, flavors of strawberries, plums and cherries that deliver then roll out for a satisfyingly dry finish that gives you a honorable mention in the tannin arena. High in alcohol at 15.9 but manages to hit your palette smoothly with wood and fruit, complexity and drinkability, awesome overall, highly recommend for pinot noir lovers looking to go bolder or cabernet scarey cats looking to get brave! — 11 years ago

A bit like old Savennières. Hazelnut and quince. A fino sherry note also. — 8 years ago
