Funky and delicious. Blend of Carignan, Cinsault, Clairette, Grenache, Grenache Blanc. Grenache Gris, Macabeu, Malvasia, Muscat a Petits Grains, Ugni Blanc, Aramon, Terret, and Jacquet from apparently 200 year old pre-phylloxera vines. On the nose, black pepper, black fruit, iron and stone. In the mouth, bright and earthy, black currants and cherries, some floral elements. Tannic and acidic mid-palate. Long finish. Aramon?! I had never heard of this grape. Not to mention this region... Sorta floral, light bodied, intensely flavored with red fruit just barely baked, chewy tannins, long finish. Anyway, fun new stuff for me. Holler if you know it.
