If Himmler has chosen viticulture over genocide perhaps this blanc de blanc champagne from cote de blancs would be the result. Aggressively pure and clean, lighter than the French attitude to adultery and elegantly frothed. Would be excellent with San choy bow — 8 years ago
Lively, citrus, brioche, touch of almond & creamy mousse — 9 years ago
Still powerful and sanguine after all of these years! It was great to pour an old, good Zin for the Coutelas' and show them a Cali original. — 13 years ago
Champagne with my mom in Paris, how can it be bad! — 13 years ago
Don't know what to do with this. pale yellow/pinkish color, oxidated, mineral, chalky. Grapefruit, lime fruit. Fresh, but also sweet... Is this meant to be this way or just simply flawed? — 8 years ago
Oxidative style; complantation Chardonnay and Pinot noir — 8 years ago

Always an absolute stunner. Perfect blend of bread and stone fruits. — 11 years ago
It was great to have Damien & Angelique Coutelas over and drink some of their excellent Champagne. Their full bodied rose went very well with pork rilletes! — 13 years ago

Built in the 17th century, Château overlooks vineyards of Mercurey in Côte Chalonnaise. In 1934, Marquis de Jouennes, father-in-law of Bertrand Devillard and grand-father of Amaury and Aurore (present owners), produced his first bottle of red Mercurey. Soft red fruit nose with rustic spices. Cherry and raspberry, sweet herb spice, good balance. Smooth tannins, lingering ending with earthy mineral tones. — 8 years ago
This one of my favorite Champagnes at this time. I hope @Gary Westby keeps bringing this in at K&L — 9 years ago
