Balanced Cabernet Sauvignon from Dave Matthews, light with grape flavor and low acid and tannin, at Dirty Water Pizza Co. In Back Bay, Boston — 7 years ago
Intensely perfumed nose of pine and redwood with spiced red fruits, a bit of a nervous energy that still needs to settle especially if sipping without food. On the palate the red fruit is sappy and sweet with good acidity though the pine and spice keep it structured. Different food makes it show differently but not really toward the fresh juicy direction like the Soberanes. Getting to know the vineyard and feels like a cold weather fall and winter wine. Very unique wine from a unique site. — 7 years ago

Damn, this 2014 vintage is now my favorite WA state Zin, period! Yes, it's hot (16.9%), but Zin is usually hot. This is packed with big, jammy black fruit that eases into sweet leather and peppery notes. This is freaking great!! — 9 years ago
So good! Refreshing and light. — 10 years ago
Excellent flavor and taste. Almond very distinct and pleasurable. — 10 years ago
This wine spends 9 years on the lees 70/30 Pinot noir and Chardonnay. This is all grand cru. A good amount of nutty a character with rich tree fruit. A big and rich wine with a good amount of pear and a host of nutty any yeasty character. Finish 50+. Most excellent+ — 10 years ago

Not usually a fan of Chardonnay, but this was a pleasant surprise. Very bright, and doesn’t taste too rich. Excellent chilled. Strong notes of green apples and pears. — 7 years ago

What can be said about d'Yquem can only be expressed in poetry, even in a modest vintage like 1998. It is an inner sanctum, a fragrant garden, a poignant release that is both profound and glorious. Descriptors cannot do it justice, sensual and honey-drenched layers of apricots, vanilla bean, creme brûlée and almond pastry. Viscous and glycerol-laden in the mouth, offset by dazzling acidity, dried fruit—quince, more apricots. A silken, pure, honey-spun web of delight. I'm rambling, but d'Yquem does that. — 10 years ago
