Wow - what a surprise! I was hoping it would be good (good producer) but given the year and appellation I wasn't expecting much. It was delicious; very pale (like freshly pressed strawberry juice) but clear, with good legs; nose of healthy wet farm soil, fresh Irish chestnut mushrooms, autumnal mulch, with a hint of strawberry jelly coming through; complex, with a (very surprising) hint of tannins and good non-volatile acidity. Still good after an hour in the glass. Almost like an old Pinot Noir but more vegetal. A paddy wine - if there were vignerons in Donegal this is what they'd be making! — 11 years ago
