DAC Tinto is a blend of Touriga Nacional, Jaen, Roriz and Alfrocheiro. Light-bodied, bright and graceful wine with herbaceous notes, green peppercorns and fresh red fruit. — 10 years ago
Wine from Gran Canaria's "badlands" -- violets, juicy juice, nice kick at the end. Can do with a slight chill below cellar and even more stellar with food from the grill. — 10 years ago

2004 - A successful blend made by Dirk Niepoort and Alvaro de Castro - combining freshness and elegance of Dao and character of Douro - encompasses the best of the two regions. This edition is the result of combining 60% of a blend of wine from the Douro, produced at Quinta de Nápoles from very old vines, one of which is over 120 years old, with 40% of a blend of Dão produced at Quinta da Pellada, from old vines, with the region's characteristic varieties: Tourigo, Jaen, Alfrocheiro and Tinta Roriz 😀 — 11 years ago

Nose: dark chocolate and cherry, slightly smokey inside of a wood box. Cherry on the tongue but not sweet, extremely well balanced with tannin, fruit and acid. Very smooth. — 9 years ago
That's a smooth lovely wine to enjoy with porco preto and such. Velvety tannins. ❤️ — 9 years ago
Penedo means rock and its on their estate. For such a light white, it's good good structure and complexity — 10 years ago
Aged 9 months in French oak. Blend of Touriga Nacional 40%, Tinta Roriz(Tempranillo) 35%, and Alfrocheiro. This wine is high in tannins, medium in acids and is extremely well balanced. Very long finish that has the representation of red, blue and black fruits. Is an excellent choice for savory dishes. — 10 years ago

Vintage 2014 - Dão is a sentimental wine, a youth love. It was powerfull and spicy when I drank it in my youth. This wine is funky frivolous, silky structure, a touch of spices. Milk chocolate in the smell. Made of three grapes: touriga nacional, tinta roriz and alfrocheiro. Great wine to give your day a silver edge. Very good p/q. — 8 years ago
Made only in exceptional years, an excellent example of the Touriga Nacional grape, deep red color with black fruit aromas, aged for 12 months in new and used French oak. On the palate blackberry and black cherry flavors with herb notes, and vivid acidity, and oaky notes. The finish is about medium, fine tannins and great structure which will age well for a decade. — 9 years ago

The bird is the word. One of the best wines I've had from Portugal. Definitely almost a light red. Pretty, juicy damson plum, pomegranate and raspberry purée notes are overlaid with pink rose and violet florals. Herbal sage and coriander notes add depth. General crunchiness and sapidity abide. So drinkable and complex, especially for the price. I foresee a lot of this in my future. What I've always been looking for in Portugal: their answer to Beaujolais. — 10 years ago
