Winery located in Alba, the Piedmont region was founded by its namesake in 1881. Great Grandson, Pio Boffa, continues the tradition of innovative wine making. ‘12 was a difficult but PC did well. Aromas of fresh dark berry fruits & herb notes. Cherry, plum and minty flavors, some licorice and cacao, well balanced with young tannins. Complex lingering finish ending with nice earthy notes. Enjoyable now but needs more time. — 8 years ago

Concentrated dark fruit aromas with some sweet spice notes. On the palate black cherry and sweet berry with cacao and toasty oak tones. Soft tannins, lingering ending with a savory fruit finish.
