Original price tag, this Crozes-Hermitage is really remarkable (I believe La Guiraude is a special cuvée?), meaty, smoky, classic aged French Syrah, long finish, amazingly this was the most ready to drink of these wines I’ve been posting tonight, and the favorite of at least one of our 6 tasters tonight!! With all that said, if anyone has bottles of this wine, it’s fully mature. — 9 months ago
Delicious light and crisp — 9 months ago
Still showing a lot of tannic and acidic structure, but enough fruit to keep it in check once it had a few hours of air, youthful still, and brawny. — a year ago
Lots of richness and structure... dark fruit, some dark spices, and a smooth finish — 9 years ago

This is a very complex Champagne with earthy, nutty flavors and a hint of stone fruit. I'm looking forward to enjoying another evening trying to parse out its rich flavors. — 11 years ago
Awesome aromatics. Tighter on the palate. Bright red cherry. Red burg happiness. — 12 years ago

Medium deep garnet, ruby core with medium light garnet rim . This is quite meaty and deep on the nose , with earthy dark cherry , porcini , sweet blackberry and spiced sous bois . On the palate this is quite severe and serious , darker fruits , ripe blackberry , cherry and hint of blackcurrant, herbal hints. Quite gritty , slightly drying tannins , fresh acidity . Earthy , dusty dark cherry edged finish , ok medium length. Quite ambitious for a village and arguably not ready yet , tannins need a little more time to integrate. From now and over the next 5 years, if not longer . — 9 months ago

The last bottle of my 2012 Vosne Romanée from Alain Hudelot Noëllat and its a wonderful show that it manage to put up. Like a grand dame in its golden years bit with a hell of a spirit its displaying evolving characters of dried strawberries, rose petals, blood orange and menthol that is backed up by a prominent choir of nutmeg, clove, truffles, wet stones and forrest floor. Fresh palate with very present but smooth tannins, an expansive palate as the encore slowly fades out in a very respectful and balanced finish.
Day 2 tasting and its pumped up, more nuanced, defined and dresses up to its teeth in elegance. The last bottle of six will leave its mark for sure. Divine! — 6 years ago
That was a nice surprise. Tart, dry, clean, sipper affordable price under $40. Kermit tasting. — 9 years ago
Chalky and mineral infused. Nicely restrained fruit. Too young, but shows promise. — 10 years ago

2014/3/8@好喝的勃艮第![勝利] — 12 years ago
Back at Le Cap where we discovered our wine of the year 2024 (Biondi Santi). This year going with a sommelier recommended Vosne Romanee (our go to red burgundy). Initial impression was “wow it’s another wine of the year contender” with notes of white truffle, strawberry ice cream and strawberry jam. Softer and more delicate than other Vosne’s we’ve tasted but after 3 hours of being open the taste dropped off at the end, so only a 9.7. — 8 months ago

Fruit and earth and heme and amazing tannins and just a hint of Brett. Quite lovely though. Could certainly have aged longer but I didn’t feel like waiting. — 9 months ago

Was going to get the 2016 given I generally love that vintage across much of Europe but the somm talked me into the 2015 saying it was more open. He was right - this was delicious, and still traditional and “old school” with a restrained 13.5%. Tons of pepper and dark dark fruit with some olive. Very delicious with nice medium acid and a long finish. — 4 years ago

Best one from the bunch I bought some 20 years ago. Dark, mysterious red. Full bodied, powerful. Spice box. Coffee grind, dark chocolate and cherries. Dusty, cacao like tannins. Bold and brazen. — 7 months ago
