Color rubio intenso. Aroma frutos rojos. De medio cuerpo, redondo. — 6 years ago
This burly blend showcases how Portugal perfectly bridges the sensibilities between Old and New World. The nose may read as a bold vintage of Reserva Rioja, but the palate has more in common with the riper, denser reds from California or Washington. Baked red and black fruit with licorice, vanilla, and very fine grained tannins. Ageworthy and a perfect bottle to pair with a NY strip. $40 — 7 years ago
Blue and black fruit with sweet spices, ash, and menthol. Definitely decant! — 8 years ago

Outstanding aged Navarra. Ready to drink now. Earthy raisin notes, but holding on to the right amount of smooth acidity. 70% Tempranillo, 30% Cab, 13.5% alc #garagiste — 9 years ago
Has just the touch of sweet to balance out the acidity and salinity. Very #gastronomic #vinorancio #viranci #priorat #spanishwines — 9 years ago
Frankincense and myrrh, I feel like I am in a manger scene hanging out with some kings. Toast, roasted wood and oaky aromas open up to spice seasoning with a lashing of salt and acidity. Made in a solera style from multiple vintages this is a unique wine in every way. A heady Viura Rioja blanco experience, I highly recommend it. #newschoolrioja — 9 years ago
Nose has raspberry jam in a charred barrel, black currant juice, charred red pepper, wet leather, fresh clay pottery and moist, earthy soil.
Palate has ripe black currant, ripe blackberry, huckleberry and dried blackberry, with a medium tannic grip remaining. Likely this bottle could easily see a 15th or 20th b-day under proper storage conditions.
Alas our final bottle, it's been a stellar performer at btwn $15-17 in retail settings, about 6-8 years ago, have not seen this bottling in a while. We used to have some 2003, but that's long gone also.
60% Garnacha / 30% Cariñena / 10% Syrah — 6 years ago
Significantly better than other 2 Douro red blends but also more expensive.

This was really interesting. Floral. On skins for a year is what I think I heard. But light in color. — 7 years ago
Medium bodied dark red fruit. Not crazy about the sweetness. — 8 years ago
Un vino excelente. — 9 years ago
Juicy black fruit, premium leather and hints of spice. Big and delicious with soft tannins and great mouthfeel. Oh, and the label is made out of cork from the region; very cool. €6 — 9 years ago
beautiful color, strong flowery nose. somehow this wine was on special. need to go back and get more!! — 9 years ago
Great wine. Full yet dry and mineral. Leather nose. — 6 years ago
Not your typical California or French Rose, but $14.00 on sale it works
Definitely will decant my 2nd bottling
Winery Notes,
Honorío Rubio is a Riojano white and rosé specialist. In a land best known for its incredibly age-worthy reds, among many die-hards out there it is undoubtedly the traditional whites which represent Rioja's finest and most original wines. We would add as well the barrel aged rosés, which are incredibly rare (Lopez de Heredia's has not been available for over 5 years, and we hear that they will finally have a little bit of the next release, 2008, in 2018!) Honorío makes an absolutely killer rosé, from some of his oldest Viura and Garnacha, briefly macerated and co-fermented, then aged 16 months in used barrels (which previously held his Lias Finas white wine). An inimitable, rich and bright, incredibly food friendly style of rosé. — 6 years ago

Rui recommended the blue Carm Reserva - this one is quite nice for not being Reserva. — 9 years ago
