Purple in color with a purplish rim.
Fruity nose of blackberries, blueberries, cherries, licorice, oak, vanilla, earth, milk chocolates, tobacco and black pepper.
Full bodied and smooth with medium acidity and nice legs.
Dry on the palate with blackberries, black currants, cherries, sweet raspberries, smoke, oak, vanilla, licorice, cloves, herbs, earth, dark chocolates, graphite, black pepper, spices and light vegetables.
Long finish with soft tannins and black pepper.
A nice blend of Barbera and Syrah from Piedmont. Well balanced and enjoyable by itself or with food. Spicy with nice complexity. A little hot at the back of the throat, but I didn't have time to properly open it up.
Needs 2 years in the bottle to mature properly. Could age nicely in the next 7 years.
Only 4600 bottles produced.
14.5% alcohol by volume.
89 points.

Great bottle. Pepper and cola on the nose. Pepper and cola with good acid on the palate. Would definitely buy if could find it in the US. — 10 years ago
First time trying this grape. Lighter bodied with nice strawberry notes and herbaceous notes. Was great with chocolate fondue. — 11 years ago

Right now I rated it a 9.0 but maybe if I had let it open up it would have a higher rate. This came highly recommended from the guy at the wine store. It's a full bodied wine with a deep red color. Cherry and raspberry on the nose. Slightly tannic and acidic. — 9 years ago

Not quite the correct wine...and this is far better than the 8.7s I’m seeing. Had this with fresh egg fettucini, homemade pasta sauce, and Waygu meatballs we made from ground beef we got at Snake River Farms. Another winner from our friends at Le volpe e’ l’uva in Florence! — 6 years ago
