Enjoyed this at Addison, Grand Del Mar ! Tastes smooth and with a tart. — 8 years ago
Birthday dinner for a '77 and '90 tonight. Celebrated at Addison and indulged in the chef's choice menu. I'm not sure how many courses we had--12, 13, 14??--but it was the single most foundation shaking culinary experience I've ever experienced. If you are ever in Del Mar do yourself a favor and dive in mouth and feet first! The Martha's was full of sumptuous fruit, dusty tannins and fun funk. None of the tell tale eucalyptus or menthol but a very fun treat. — 8 years ago

Dark cherry and coffee. Amazing aroma! — 4 years ago
2013 Albatross Ridge Estate Chardonnay. Wowza! Balanced, beautiful - amazingly preserved acidity, zest -complemented by quince and lemon curd finishing w/ mineral tones. Elegant, complex layers.... might guess young St. Aubin in a blind. — 8 years ago
Loved this bubbly. Had this in Auckland New Zealand while on holiday. Thank you Birgit Addison for sharing many many glasses of Lindauer.😊 — 10 years ago
I can't believe I didn't rate this or write it up at the time. A suggestion from Rory Pugh, the sommelier at the Grand Del Mar (Fairmont) in San Diego. I forget if we were at Amaya or Addison. Regardless, this was a great suggestion by Mr. Pugh and an eye-opener. Went great with our entrees, which I'm sure were meat-centric. Had it again in Boston at Craigie on Main many months later. This is a terrific Bordeaux. — 10 years ago
Oh man what a special wine. Had to finish a great food and wine trip strong and this rare Rayas blanc from the fantastic list at Addison did not disappoint. Drinking at its apogee, it’s rich, wide open and firing on all cylinders with an attractive waxy texture and layered complexity.
Takes a turn to magic town after 2 hours open. It is highly focused with great power, structure, balanced acidity and tremendous depth. Torched pineapple, melon, melted butter, minerals and drizzled honey. There is superb concentration and midpalate intensity leading to a seamless transition to its exceptionally long finish that just won’t dissipate. Grateful to have snagged the last one! ❤️ — 5 years ago
Surprise blockbuster WOTN. Layers of rich silky fruit, spice box, cherry tobacco. This winery was one of the first to get me engaged with wine in the mid 90's. The old crimson basic label still holds a special place with me. This brought some wine epiphany memories rushing back. I had forgotten this old friend a little but the reunion was sweet. The new somm at Addison was effusive. Respect. — 8 years ago
