Good cab flavor. Starts out with good smooth tannins but has a light finish. Still very good. — 5 years ago
Kathleen Ward of Acumen Winery shared this beauty in honor of Denis Malbec. Clos du Marquis is the second label of Château Léoville-Las Cases next to Chateau Latour in Paulliac. (Juillac tributary separating its vineyards from those of Château Latour in Pauillac.) — 8 years ago
Amazing nose of honeysuckle and wet hay. Very dry on the palate with a mineral essence and balanced acid. — 8 years ago
Strawberry and cedar with a smooth wisp of creme fresh. Sublime as a sipping wine and even better with food. Can drink right away and just keeps getting better as it opens up. — 9 years ago
Delicious meaty full body tempranillo. Flavors of dark and red fruit with gentle tannins and a hint of red raspberry for some tang. Delightful easy drinking wine with a nice complexity. — 4 years ago
The balanced nose shows restrain and acumen; black cherry mocha and heavy floral conformance. Shades of oak aging are intelligent and stabilized. Tannins are rigid and acidity is noticeable. This wine, however, lacks complexity and gives off high amounts of heat. But the low amount of rain and warm summer in 2015 helped an early ripen, and this wine shows fantastic qualities of ripened fruit without being jammy or over-extracted. Cheers to mother nature, and the amazing things she can accomplish! Cheers! — 7 years ago
