Right now I rated it a 9.0 but maybe if I had let it open up it would have a higher rate. This came highly recommended from the guy at the wine store. It's a full bodied wine with a deep red color. Cherry and raspberry on the nose. Slightly tannic and acidic. — 9 years ago
Such a great lil wine. Ripe cherries, pops of raspberry, followed by waves of tobacco and sweet-wood smoke. Bright acidity, backed by just the right amount of structure. — 9 years ago
Beautiful color. Nice acid and full leather could probably hold another 5 years but with a little air it is beautiful! — 10 years ago
Great with Jazz and a Caesar salad. — 11 years ago
Classic Barolo, great bottle to end a great dinner — 11 years ago

Great dry wine to have with a meal! — 8 years ago
Ripe, fresh cherry on the nose. Raspberry. Low tannin presence and a very light, ethereal body. Slight herbal notes on the finish, which is fairly long — 9 years ago
Delicious with a roast - very nice Barbera — 9 years ago
Really nice wine specially with a piece of meet — 10 years ago
1998: Youthful. Broad on the palette, with tannins not far behind. This is the Barolo for CA Cab lovers, with a chewy, dense mouthfeel, yet packed with fruit and tasting brand new, rather than 17 years old. Also poured at Quince for white truffle menu. While not showing the same level of complexity as the 1971 or 1985 at the same meal, it was roundly admired, and preferred by some. — 11 years ago
Floral and feminine but excellent structure. This is a wine made with kindness, and you can taste it. Exceptional. — 11 years ago
Shared a 26-year-old wine with Matt and Kim. Opened up nicely with a bit of leather and nice fruit. — 11 years ago
When a woman makes wine !! Floral, fruity, almost silky .. Firm tanins, a great wine. — 11 years ago
Best I’ve had in a while. — 8 years ago
Tasted at BaroloBrunello Milano 2017. Most important per a rep of the winery — 9 years ago
What a wine! Full bodied, heavy tannins. Very well balanced. More dark berry notes than the Samarassa 2011, with a smooth transition to vanilla, black pepper and tobacco notes. Much less liquorice than the Samarassa. Overall, fantastic wine with a lot of complexity. — 9 years ago
Tart cherry or cranberry with sage and and a nice mouth feel. — 10 years ago

Dark rich nose of toffee and plums. A bit floral. On the palate lighter than you would expect from an Amarone, but pleasant with a grip at the finish. — 11 years ago
Lots of cherry and nose in the palate, even after more than ten years, a lot of fruit, acidity and rabbi in the finish. Earthy, mushroom. Can age longer, but still delicious. — 11 years ago

Warm fruit on the nose that combines with a velvety palate of berries and licorice.. Elegant, flavorful and in a good place right now but will age.. — 11 years ago
Completely drinkable; what a pleasure — 11 years ago
So sad, our last meal @inoteca. '96 Borgogno Riserva and truffled egg toast make for a marvelous send-off! Thank you 'inoteca! #inotecalastsip — 12 years ago
