A Dry Farm Wines Selection

Bevan Cellars

Dry Stack Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2022

An amazing Sauvignon Blanc with a great potential to age, enticing citrus notes with some powerful yet not overwhelming tropical fruit flavors. Great wood notes make this one very distinctive and expressive white from Sonoma. A bit hazy with some sediments which fall almost into a natural category of wines. However; it’s meant to improve as it ages. A bit not so common for a white from this region. Paired with seafood (salmon and tuna fish). Solid! — 8 months ago

Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel 2019

Musty aromas with blackberry and plum. One the bud, a spice note with a bit of tartness. Overall a nice Zinfandel. — 9 months ago

Pullus

Terrace Select Dry Creek Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

Super well made Dry Creek Cabernet. Second best wine of the night. Great focus and intensity of fruit and oak. No real sign of age in the nose or color. Very aromatic and long finish. Slightly rough on the finish but it complimented the steak perfectly. Excellent juice 🍷🍷 — 4 years ago

Robert Mondavi Winery

Private Selection Aged in Bourbon Barrels Monterey County Cabernet Sauvignon 2017

Balanced but fruit is front and center through to the finish with a soft velvety tongue. The bourbon barrels come through with a deliciously harmonious, and unique surprise. — 6 years ago

Alfio Moriconi Selection Cuvée Vieilles Vignes Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Surprisingly light. It starts with a floral overlay - it's there then dissipates into a light finish and then gone. Any easy drink — 11 years ago

Raymond Vineyard & Cellar

Reserve Selection Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

This wine was the perfect accompaniment for tonight’s dinner; steak au poivre. I’m no sommelier but I picked up some notes of blackberry and black cherry with hints of chocolate and peppery spice. Once again, not a sommelier. Wine- 9/10 Steak- 10/10 The Fugitive- Harrison Ford/10 — 2 years ago

Really god stuff, just a little off our typical path of Cabs, but the Blend is excellent.
Next time we see this, we’re buying it all!

Russian River Selection Pinot Noir 2016

Licorice, acid, nice tannins. A little pucker afterwards. Good wine with dinner. Very good, but maybe not worth the $40 price tag. 2016 — 5 years ago

Rocks and Gravel Dry Creek Valley Grenache Blend 2015

Very light, but well rounded, good with food but most enjoyable pre or post meal as a stand alone. Sippable, fruit forward, with a slight peppery finish. — 6 years ago

Dashe Cellars

Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel 2014

Well this is a rather dramatic departure from the style of the last 10 vintages as I remember them. I could misremember way back but don't think so. The DCV is usually the "regular" (as opposed to Enfante Terrible) Zin that is most always ready to go right upon release. This vintage the wine is structure forward as opposed to fruit. The fruit is there and not over ripe or jammy, but underneath the skeleton. Did you guys change some of the vineyard sources for this wine? Doesn't look like it from your website. Anyhow I would give this a two day decant or 3-4 more years.
Great wine but not the usual early drinker.

Produttori del Barbaresco

Barbaresco Nebbiolo 2019

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of two days. Best on Day 2. The 2019 pours a pale garnet color with a transparent core; medium+ viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of Morello cherries, red roses, tangerine, pomegranate, talcum powder, dried sage, truffle, and dried stony earth. On the palate, the wine is bone dry with high tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and savory. A lovely expression of 2019 Barbaresco. Drink now with patience and through 2049. — 9 months ago

Dry Finger Lakes Riesling 2019

I could drink this shit forever, it has a sexy marriage of minerality and acidity. I’m getting green apple, white peach, some lime. Also the suggestion of pizza dough and something savory like mushroom (just me???) — 2 years ago

Coravin'd a glass. Opens with a buttery nose but it's much more acidic than buttery. Nice fruit notes of Key Lime and peach. Somewhat of a longer orangey finish. I liked it better less chilled. — 7 years ago

Château Pontet-Canet

Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 2002

Scorewine
9.0

A fantastic 2002, this lovely wine shows once more that today there aren't really bad years in Bordeaux, this Pontet Canet was well structured rich and tempting. Deep red, tempting rich multi layered nose ripe cherries, black current, coffee, cigar box, and tea leaves, full rich body, dry tannins, full of black fruit, high acidity and a long chewy finish. Was worth the wait, my score 90. Drink to 2022 — 9 years ago

Black Forest Distillers

Monkey 47 Schwarzwald Dry Gin

Monkey 47 Dry Distiller Gin. Slightly hazy, water white, colourless. Pronounced intensity of perfume, juniper, lingonberry, violets, lavender, orange and grapefruit zest. With water added, more perfume and citrus notes to the fore. Dry on the palate. Warming alcohol, medium body, pronounced flavour intensity. Long finish. Very complex. Outstanding example of a premium gin. — 10 years ago
