Bought a case of these on release for like (I think) $80 a bottle or so, opened a couple a few years later and was disappointed. I was told, “just wait.” And holy sh*t! Was that good advice. This blew my mind. If all Sauv Blancs/ sancerres tasted like this I’d have a new vice. Minerality out the wazoo, with perfectly balanced peach, grapefruit rind & melon notes…never cloying. Crisp, harmonious., unctuous. Downright delicious. Now I understand the current crazy prices. A one of a kind wine! — a year ago
Still huge after all these years (2003). A tiny bit on the port-y side (reduced). Well integrated oak. Baking spices, blackberry jam. Will it get better? Might try again in five years to see. Not as complex as I was expecting. — 3 years ago

Still holding up. Not premox! Lovely and delicate, with beach and tide pool aromas, brine, seaweed, salty air. Perfect w oysters. Delicious. — 3 years ago
All the classic graphite, iodine, cassis and green pepper (perhaps a little overwhelmingly so) on the nose. Palate of INTENSE pepper (dare I say Serrano)…but overall light and enjoyable. Lacking some bottom end that may evolve in time? Still feels VERY young. A great 7th anniversary wine. Truth be told, slightly disappointing, though only had a one hour decant… — 3 years ago

Must be hitting this at the exact right time, or it’s an exceptional bottle, but this shocked me. Bought on release and never opened a bottle until now…terrific surprise. Rich dark fruit pie, obligatory lead pencil, Christmas spices on the nose. Admittedly less complex on the palate - but it’s balanced, an excellent accompaniment to my rib-eye. A very nicely made wine. — 3 years ago
