Quite concentrated wine, but shiny.
Fruit and ground to start then tobacco and balsamic.
Successful sip, fresh, nice tannins, palate is not too heavy at all. At peak, very pleasant right now

20 years old, and still wonderful. A very well-made wine.

Sadly my last bottle; seems to be at a high point with a great mix of fruit and earth. Might have a couple years left to smooth off the last tannins but pretty delicious as it is.

Dark purple with hazy residues. Nose is beautiful with plummy notes, oak, and tobacco leaves. Taste is dense and chewy, polished tannins, oak and cedar wood, tobacco leaves, dark fruits, and some smokiness. Aftertaste is long and pleasant, with notes from the tasting. Drink it or keep it for a couple of years.

Wine #1 in a blind tasting with Giacomo and Habib. There was so much pepper in the nose that I thought this was a nebbiolo, even though the ease on the tongue should have told me elder supertuscan. STUPID STUPID STUPID. This was Habib's favorite.

Blind tasting with Signore Gile. The 2000 was better but still a great wine.

As good as this is going to get. Lots of cassis and herbs, dried cherry and earth.
