Beautifully ripe. Fresh and confectionary; caramel and red fruit. Pomegranate molasses. I’m realizing after about an hour that this is some of the most deftly used oak in recent memory. So subtle I almost didn’t notice. Succulent and delightful. Stunning.

This is 2018 in a 2017 bottle. Finally. This is as advertised as Sven was going crazy over this wine. Well, as much as a reserved German guy can go crazy. Stunning nose. Just bananas great. Deep red and black cherry and just perfect ripeness. Heavenly spices and unreal depth and refinement. That’s what makes this special. The refinement. This nose is a 9.6. Easy. So nimble and spicey. It’s so layered. Unreal black and red cherry. Just sick! Since 2014 he has improved so much with his Pinot. Wow, so lush and suave on the palate with such freshness and purity. Also the appropriate amount of leanness. Rich but nimble and so focused. Nose keeps getting more expansive and more complex. Nose gets licorice and cherry flower with air. Also cherry pastille. So juicy and with terrific structure. Elegant and velvety tannins and really has structure to burn. This will age gloriously. Terrific inner mouth aromas. But I can tell this needs an hour to really shine. And it will.
