Sediment and tartrates so heavy that it impeded flow thru the neck. Tannins softened considerably and this became a rich, earthy, elegant full-bodied wine. Big but subtle fruit. Like a cross between Napa and Bordeaux.

Thick sediment and tartrates decanted out. Softened to a lush, rich cab that seemed like a Napa Bordeaux hybrid.

Wow. At PnP was super tight w some cherries and lots of cocoa. Took 48 hours to really open. Really blossomed into a beautiful blend. Nose of raisins, prunes, pencil shavings. Dried cherries, prunes, dark chocolate, tobacco ash. White pepper and allspice. Petit Verdot definitely evident at finish.

What a surprise to find this hidden gem in one of my boxes lying wait for a cooler. A true and classic Bordeaux blend in every sense of the word - can't believe I found a 2002 in a spare box.

Whoa!! Strong contender to top 5s on my list!! Powerful, long, fruity, caramel-flavored, with balanced oak and strong tannins! Perfect age too!! What a treat!

I’m not rating. I think I could be off after some long bike rides this past week. I’m not as impressed with this as I’ve been with the last few 15+ year old bottles from Spring Mountain, but Mel says this is great.
