Medium ruby violet rim . Touch of VA at first , with dark cherry , wild dark berry character, pretty ripe . On the palate slightly rustic high acidity , a bit funky with ripe dark cherry fruit , becoming more earthy and mineral with time . Ok length , a bit hot and pinched finish , rather unrefined tannins . Drink now and over the next 3 or 4 years . A bit awkward and harsh overall, not my kind of thing. As with other low intervention wines , I do wonder if this is what it’s supposed to be! Coming back to this after a few hours , it has calmed itself down a bit and lost the volatility it showed on opening , but the heat and ripeness get in the way a bit, however it is better than it was .
