Perus Wine Company Bryn Proprietary Red Wine 2017 Napa Valley, California

It's time for some
#FridayCabernetfix. Here is a gorgeous one from Napa Valley.

Dark inky in color with a short purple rim.

Pronounced nose of cooked cherries, dried figs, raisins, blackberries, light vanilla, cedar, mocha, light earth, chocolates, coffee, tobacco and black pepper.

Full bodied, big, soft, smooth and elegant with medium acidity and long long legs.

Dry and very fruity on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, cedar, leather, vanilla, licorice, spices, chocolates, tobacco, mocha, cola, light earth, maple, alcohol, peppercorn and coffee.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.

This Cabernet Sauvignon blend from Napa Valley is just delicious now, although still young.

Showing nice complexity with a great mouthfeel. Well balanced and fruit forward.

Definitely a wine to sip on all by itself. No need for food here, although a big, juicy steak would be fine too 😊.

Good right out of the bottle and gets better as it opens up and shows the complexity. I gave it 4 hours in the decanter before I started drinking it.

This reminds me of the Insignia. I would love to try them side by side. I'd love to see how it evolves in 10 years.

Spicy and interesting. Elegant yet powerful. Tasty, smooth and delicious. Loved the palate better than the nose at this point, but this will probably change in 5 years from now.

A blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Merlot. A small production of only 250 cases.

15.5% alcohol by volume.

96 points.

$125.
